THANK YOU

Psalm 9:1 (NKJV)

I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works.”

Have you ever had someone help you when you are in the middle of a chaotic situation? What about a person who goes out of their way to hold the door for you when you have your hands full? Maybe it was as simple as asking how you were doing?

We may encounter situations like these every day that can make you appreciate another person. They may not expect anything from us, but you thank them for helping you. Even at the time you may not be able to effectively express your appreciation.

Too often we may not have the words when we could at least give a simple thank you. Those two words can mean so much, but we don’t even say them. Depending on the person or the situation we may feel embarrassed by the entire scene.

Embarrassment should be one of the last emotions we feel. The person knows that they are helping you, so we should just get past it. Keep the feelings of joy you may have felt when they originally reached out to give you a hand.

We all have told a person thank you in the past, or at least we should have. We can say the words, but we all may have our own way of showing it as well. A quick smile is a usual expression, while some of us may add a few things on.

Phrases like, “I really appreciate it, you didn’t have to do that, or you are so kind.” Some of us may opt for a handshake, fist bump, or even a hug. Expressing gratitude will brighten the other person’s day as much as they have brightened yours.

Other people don’t have to be involved for us to express gratitude. Some of us may know this sentiment by another name. Looking on the bright side, keeping a positive outlook, or even having an optimistic attitude.

If you really think about it, we should always try to be optimistic and stay positive, but too often we let people and life get in the way. A gratitude mindset can change who we are and how our day will go. A simple deep breath and a stretch can mean more if you say to yourself, “another day, I’m alive and breathing.”

Greet the day, don’t start with a negative. Each new day brings new possibilities no matter what had happened the day before. We can then continue with everything we do. I can see, I heard my alarm, and I was able to speak out loud. I could stand, I could walk, and I was able to feel the sun on my face. The light turned on, the toilet flushed, and I was cool even though it was hot outside.

We can have these little moments and take them for granted. That’s at least until they are not there. Take a few moments and think about all the little things in our homes and our environment we easily overlook each day. Some of us may use a different term rather than gratitude. I like to go with blessings, or better yet, counting my blessings. God has put us and our world together in such an incredible way that we have no choice but to be amazed.

There is no complete understanding of how the human body functions or the world works. It is too complex. Every little thing around us should be celebrated and thanking God for everything we have in this world is only the first step. I have not done this enough lately and was reminded of what I was missing.

Like this newsletter. I so look forward to getting your letters that I can share, but after three years even I can forget what it is for. It is not a task that is done like a job that is worked. Each line is a message given through others from God and that is the true celebration.

I remember when I was given the idea of the newsletter, I was already led to mail in inspiration, but the doubt of being able to expand it, but we put it together and has not evolved into what we have today. However, we still have room to grow.

I have to give thanks not just for being led in this undertaking, but back more than ten years when the Lord opened my ears to the gift of writing. Before that I was not listening and didn’t think I was worthy. I then had to learn to share what I was given and many of the voices you hear today were used by the Lord to shape and refine me further. I cannot thank them enough.

I will end my words with some of the verses that have helped lead me to where the glory belongs. To our Lord. Colossians 3:17, “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

Psalm 107:21, “Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!”

Philippians 4:6-7, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

                                                                  Thank you, LORD!!!

THAT WE ALL COULD BE FORGIVEN

Thank you for the breath in my lungs and a heart that continues to beat,
Thank you that I could rise from my bed and stand on my own two feet.

Thank you for the quiet of morning while the sun is slowly rising,
Thank you that I could see the bright blue sky and hear somebody crying.

Thank you for the roof over my head and keeping it a safe place to go,
Thank you for a chance to be with my spouse and to see my children grow,

Thank you for the flowers that bloom and the food I have to eat,
Thank you for the hope to win each day and not fall in defeat.

Thank you for the strength to fight, especially when times are tough,
Thank you for the feeling of peace when life gets really rough.

Thank you for just being alive and putting me on your earth,

Thank you for a chance to help others, showing them what they’re worth.

Thank you for walking beside me and for those you placed along the way,

Thank you for helping me stay on your path even when I try to stray.

Lord, I could never be able to thank you for all that I have been given,
Especially how you gave your life so that we all could be forgiven.
